In 2013, Lego Marvel Super Heroes was released and gave us essentially all we would and could want from a Marvel Lego game. Iron Man blasts his repulsor beams off Captain America’s shield, Black Widow and Hawkeye zipline together and more. As part of a welcome addition to the series, Lego Marvel’s The Avengers introduces team-up combos, in which two characters close to each other can pull off a pretty sweet finisher move. The game is a bit glitchy, though, and characters’ powers may not work just right. The goals of this title remain the same: Collect as many Lego pieces as possible, build and solve puzzles, defeat bosses and enjoy playing as a blocky version of your favorite superhero. But there’s enough here to give you a few laughs per level.
The story is obviously straightforward - if you’ve seen the movies. The presentation is great, of course, with film scenes being played out by Lego minifigs and voice clips from the actual films, but there is little more than that. The latest title in the series, Lego Marvel’s The Avengers, sends players through a handful of Marvel’s superhero flicks, including both Captain America and Avengers films, Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3. It’s just a shame it came too little, too late.

This is about eight percent of its 18,200-person global workforce. Just for the first half of the year 2017, LEGO laid off 1,400 employees. As the shift of childhood attention turns into video games and screens, the task for LEGO is to remain relevant.
LEGO has continuously adapted to the evolution of childhood playtime. Compared to other materials, this plastic is less toxic and is more heat resistant. Today, LEGO bricks are made from acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, or ABS plastic. These bricks are called “automated binding bricks” which serve as the precursor of today’s LEGO bricks. By the late 1940s, LEGO would switch to a form of plastic called cellulose acetate. LEGO started making toys like yo-yos, trucks and sucks on wheels before focusing on its current brand. Did you know that prior to 1947, LEGO were made of wood? The Lego franchise began in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen, a carpenter from Billund, Denmark.
